This grill can cook pizzas up to 13″ in diameter and does so with 25,000 BTU’s.
You’ll never have trouble getting your food cooked on this bad boy because of its two powerful burners generating heat from below as well as the separated oven box that pivots into an open position for added versatility when you need both functions: pizza or grilling at once (or whichever way works best!).

In this article, we will look at some of the features that make the BakerStone Pizza Oven so popular.
We’ll also compare different models to help you decide which one is best for you. So, whether you’re an experienced pizza chef or just starting, a BakerStone Pizza Oven is sure to please.
BakerStone Portable Gas Pizza Oven review about Cooking Experience
Preparing the pizza dough for BakerStone’s Pizza Oven Box is very similar to how you would go about making wood-fired pizzas.
I made my version in the early morning, then let it rise for 3 hours before dividing it into two balls and allowing those to rise again on their own time while pinching off small bits around the edges using gravity as needed.
So they’ll stretch properly when cooked at high temperatures inside an oven that can reach up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 Celsius).
With an exposed flame, we were skeptical that the Bakestone would get hot enough to quickly cook thin-crust pizzas, but it turns out they were wrong!
Having stones on each side meant there was lots of trapped heat inside. As with most other models (and based on what you’d expect), this oven is hottest at the back, so cooking near these parts will give your pizza a quicker turnaround time.
BakerStone’s pizza oven takes longer to preheat than other comparably mighty ranges.
The dual burners are more than capable of boosting internal temperature above 800°F but will need 30 minutes instead of 15-20, which manufacturer recommends
Once it reaches this high enough level (in about 20), even heat retention enables superior cooking performance from their pizza stovetop!
It’s essential to remember that the oven opening is narrow, so pizzas should be inserted and removed with care. The exterior gets very hot because of its small size – but this also helps retain heat well for five stones (one on each side).
BakerStone Portable Gas Pizza Oven review about: Ease of use
The BakerStone oven is a little different from other pizza makers in that it has an oversized firebox that separates from the burner unit. So it can accommodate a standard 14″ pie due to its extra inch or so on either side.
However, this larger than average size comes at some expense – weighing 50 pounds!
If you’re looking for an outdoor grill style unit with similar functionality but lighter weight, then check out our other options instead; they’ll be more affordable too
The BakerStone Oven is a great choice for people who enjoy cooking at home but want something that’s not too small or lightweight.
This oversized machine has some drawbacks, like its size and weight, making it less portable than other models on our list – unless you have someone else willing to help carry the 50+ pounds!
Despite these disadvantages, we still think this oven deserves an excellent score because of how well designed all aspects are: from performance quality (speed) down to durability.
How about the Temperature Control on BakerStone Portable Gas Pizza Oven?
Thanks to its ability and consistency, the BakerStone oven is a favorite among our testers from the first firing.
This stand-alone cooker has two separate burners that power it: one for pizza dough warming (the lollipop burner) and a large U-shaped scorching plate extending along both sides of your cooking space – effectively eliminating hot spots!
The oven is designed with an intelligent heat distribution system that evenly distributes the radiant energy from your stovetop to the cookware inside.
This means you won’t have any hot spots or cold patches, ensuring even cooking for all of its contents!
We used a thermometer on each side (front and back) and near ground level; these measurements showed consistent warmth throughout—an average difference between them was only 21°F which proves how effective this design works at keeping things nice around here.
BakerStone Portable Gas Pizza Oven review: Its Design and functionality
The simplicity of the BakerStone pizza oven is both its strength and weakness.
The design doesn’t try to be all things for everyone, making it easy enough that even those without much experience can use this effect; however, there’s nothing fancy or frilly about how they’ve made their product, so if you’re looking for something ornate then look elsewhere!
You can adjust the heat level with two burners to create your perfect cooking environment. A built-in thermometer on top of this powerful oven keeps track.
It provides accurate readings in three ranges: low (200 degrees Fahrenheit), medium-high(250), or high setting with flame heights visible through small vents near each burner head – it’s easy as pie!

How to use the BakerStone Pizza Oven? (Easier Than You Think)
We’re going to show you how easy it is to use your baker, stone, pizza, and oven box.
Simply place it on your grill, set your burners to high, and let it preheat for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Once the needle reaches the flame icon, you’re ready to bake pizza.
Now you’re going to launch your pizza into the baking chamber, and then you’ll let it sit for at least a minute.
Letting the pizza sit will allow the crust to be set up and make it easier to rotate your pizza.
You rotate your pizza because it’s the hottest in the back of the oven, so slide your turner underneath the pizza lift and rotate it.
And you’re going to turn it a quarter to a third of a turn. You’re going to do this every 40-45 seconds to ensure a nice, even brown around the outside.
Now be careful when you slide under your pizza not to hit the edge of the pizza, or you may fold it underneath.
After about two to four minutes, you’ll end up with a perfectly cooked pizza. Enjoy!

With the flexibility to turn any cooking task into an outdoor kitchen, this pizza oven is a must for experienced chefs who want their skillset available at all times.
With its low price point and ability in various modes of operation (grill or griddle), it’s easy enough that even beginners will enjoy using one!
The BakerStone oven is a great starting point for those who want to experiment with making their own pizzas.
You can continue using it without having too many upgrades as you gain more experience, which means this could be an affordable option if your budget isn’t limitless!
The BakerStone pizza oven is a versatile and well-performing device that truthfully outshone expectations given its lack of an exposed flame.
We preferred it over the other two grills we tested, as both with open flames cooked our pizzas faster while also being easier to control; this was why I didn’t mind at all extra taking steps for something my taste prefers: smokier flavor from smoking rather than frying foods on top (or below) hot coals!
